Is it easy to give advice?

Many say, "It is easy to advise others, but difficult to follow by oneself." It is common these days that if something happens we are prepared to motivate the other person. There were times when sometimes I would find some of the close ones in trouble, which would automatically lead my inner soul to advise them. But in the end, all I could hear was, "It is easy to advise others, but difficult to follow by oneself."  Sometimes I would wonder if I was making a mistake by advising someone.

It is not always about advising, sometimes it's an experience of a person, who had faced a similar situation and came out of it. Knowing the circumstances behind the situation, he/she always tries to save the person. Once, in between the conversation, I questioned my brother, " There are many motivational books and videos, but still why do we never fail to fall into problems?"  He replied, "No matter how many times you try to save people from falling, they won't listen, until and unless they experience it by themselves. Every motivating book or story is an experience of a person."  I deeply thought about it, applying it on my own myself, accepting that I have done the same thing.

As BK Shivani once said, "We advise others easily not because it is easy to do so, but because we think good about others and not about ourselves."

Sometimes, it hits hard when we come to know different perspectives on certain things in life. It's not easy to advise, somewhere the person has followed first and advised later. So, what are your thoughts on advising others?
