How Do You Know That You Are Healing In Life?
Healing is not a short process, it's a long process.
Few steps through which one goes thorough while healing:
1. One breaks down, thinking about the traumatic experiences. It might be one or many experiences.
2. He/She starts thinking about why it happened? Or Why me?
3. The person will search for a thing to express himself, and what he or she is going through. May it be words, music, movie or any other kind of artwork. Art is a form of expression.
4. The person tries to experiment with different things, searching for what makes them happy.
5. Some might get a reason to live or a reason to be happy.
6. Experimenting with several things, a person starts finding happiness in small things.
7. The person tries to explain one oneself how each past trauma or crisis, has helped them to build a better life.
8. The person accepts each part of their past (struggle, crises, traumas, sadness)
9. The person starts forgiving oneself and others.
10. When one starts enjoying each and everything in the surrounding. He/She doesn't need a reason or a person or a specific situation to make them happy. He or She feels peaceful, satisfied, and proud, that he or she has beaten all the difficulties and survived throughout the situation.
11. Focuses on self-care rather than worrying about others' judgement.

Tips to heal oneself
1. Search what makes you happy
2. Invest in yourself: Once a week have a date with yourself and pamper yourself when you are going through some worst situations.
3. Spend some time on your hobbies.
4. Express yourself to someone or through something.
5. Have a gratitude jar. (Every day write on paper, which things you have gratitude for and them in the jar. Once the jar is filled, read all the slips. You will find that you have so many things for which you should be grateful.

6. Do meditate every day at least for 5-10 minutes.
Healing differs from person to person. For some, it will be through talking to people. For others, it might be happening, when one tries to understand what he/she is going through. Why this is happening? What can be done to repair this wound? There are lots of questions in a person's mind. Never expect that you will heal once and never break again. Life is a roller-coaster. Healing hurts more than wounds, but it has a different peace within healing.

Jyoti, this was such a beautiful article. I think it's your most heartfelt one so far. The part about pampering yourself, being grateful and finding joy in your hobbies - this made me feel very emotional. Thank you for writing this one. I need to start meditating and working more on being grateful. I need to heal as well, I have many wounds which I need to care for, which I haven't been taking heed of.
